Cooking Skewers Saunders Brothers cooking skewers are made of solid wood. They are great for making sushi kabobs and buffet snacks, appetizers, and for broiling, grilling, or sautéing meats and vegetables. Makes a good cake tester, too! These are slightly less than 1/8 inch in diameter, pointed on one end and round at the other. It is a good idea to soak the skewers in water for 30 minutes before using in cooking.
