At the turn of the century, two enterprising brothers, Harry and Arthur Saunders, started a mill woodworking business in North Waterford, Maine making dowels from white and yellow birch. In 1916 after a fire destroyed the original mill, Saunders Brothers moved to Westbrook, Maine, where our corporate office remains today.

With over 100 years of manufacturing excellence, Saunders Brothers continues to be an industry leader in manufacturing dowels, pins, hardwood rollers, decorative turnings, handles and our innovative pre-glued Aqua Pins.

Our hardwood comes from sustainable New England forests and are traditionally manufactured with Maine craftsmanship. We take pride in everything we make. Our custom finishes are not only beautiful and long lasting, but safe for use in the food and toy industries. We are continually innovating new products to meet our customers needs.
